Sterling Thimble LLC – Quilting Service Policy
By submitting a quilt to Sterling Thimble LLC, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Quilt Condition & Preparation
- Sterling Thimble LLC is not responsible for damage to quilts beyond our control.
- If, in our professional opinion, a quilt is not pieced well enough to quilt safely, it will be returned to the customer at the customer’s expense.
- Quilts must be pressed, squared, and free of pins, basting, and embellishments such as buttons or beads.
- Backing must be at least 4–6 inches larger than the quilt top on all sides.
- Sterling Thimble LLC is not responsible for folds, fullness, or distortion caused by improper preparation.
2. Design & Pattern Sizing
- Customers are responsible for selecting their quilting design and thread color.
- Sterling Thimble LLC will determine pattern sizing unless the customer provides a specific request in writing.
- Sterling Thimble LLC is not responsible if the customer selects the incorrect design pattern whether chosen purposely or by accident or decides to change the design pattern after quilting has begun or is completed.
- If a discrepancy or question occurs, Sterling Thimble LLC will attempt to contact the customer by email, text or telephone call from information filled out by the customer at the time of the order. If the customer cannot be reached, we reserve the right to use our best professional judgment to proceed.
- All sales are final.
3. Quilting Results
- Longarm quilting may result in minor thread tension variations, visible starts/stops, or thread tails. These are considered normal and are not defects.
- Sterling Thimble LLC will use professional judgment to ensure the best overall results for each quilt.
4. Trimming Policy
- Sterling Thimble LLC will trim the backing and batting close to the quilt top, within a 1-inch variance. We will return all unused fabric with the finished quilt.
- We do not trim or square the quilt top itself; this remains the responsibility of the customer.
5. Turnaround Time & Payment
- Standard turnaround time is estimated at 3–4 weeks but may vary depending on workload.
- Rush orders may incur an additional fee.
- Payment must be made in full before quilting begins.
- Accepted forms of payment will be listed on the invoice or order form.
6. Shipping & Delivery
- Shipping quilts to Sterling Thimble LLC is the customer’s responsibility and expense.
- Return shipping within the continental United States is included in our pricing.
- Sterling Thimble LLC is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged packages during shipping.
- Return shipping will include tracking to the return address provided by the customer.
- The customer is responsible for providing a safe and secure return address.
7. Media Release
- By checking “OK” on the order form, you grant Sterling Thimble LLC the right to photograph and/or videotape your quilt and use such media for promotional, educational, or commercial purposes at our discretion.
8. Environment Disclosure
- Sterling Thimble LLC is a smoke-free environment.
- We strive to maintain the cleanest environment possible to respect and protect your quilts.
